The Product Manager Role

It’s difficult to produce a data product without data product managers. Most data professionals do not have exposure to product management, so this role is alien to most. To be clear, a data product manager is not a project manager, a BI/data developer, or data analyst or data scientist. 

Data product managers help shape, ship, and manage data products. There might be more than one person performing these duties. In many cases, a product owner has accountability for the data product definition and value, and a data product marketing manager is in charge of promoting the product and tracking usage and requirements.
