Data Product Platforms Emerge
A data product platform (DPP) consists of a data market running on top of a data fabric. It’s an emerging technology that most organizations will implement in the coming years to foster data sharing across organizational boundaries. (See figure 1.)
Companies will either buy a DPP, build it from scratch, or implement data market software on top of their existing data fabric. This combination means most data products will be virtual. The data fabric facilitates the dynamic generation of data products in real-time in response to consumer requests.
