Some think data products are components that developers use as building blocks for applications; others think they are dashboards or ML models. The truth is a data product can take almost any form; its nature depends on the type of target user. (See figure 1.)\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">As a subset of data assets, data products also have other characteristics: they are designed for broad data sharing and reuse; they\u2019re packaged with business and technical metadata, which are actively curated; and they are systematically governed and certified.\u00a0 Data products are also managed by a product team, continuously improved and funded, and published in a data market.
